About

Cathy is a Canadian science illustrator, designer, and storyteller who recently graduated with a Master’s degree in Biomedical Communications from the University of Toronto. She previously attended the University of Toronto for a degree in Pharmacology and Toxicology (2024), completing research on characterization of behavioural phenotypes in patient derived mouse models with GRIN Disorder. Now, she takes her experience from the lab bench and applies it to visualize complex scientific material. 

Cathy recently finished disseminating the dangers of partaking in Cannabis and driving with the Centre of Mental Health and Addiction (CAMH). She also created visuals to aid instructions for a course in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Toronto, and is a biomedical communications production editor for Toronto Notes, a comprehensive medical review that is revised annually. She loves to tackle complex medical and scientific communications.

Her passion as a storyteller extends beyond science. In her free time, she also loves illustrating fantastical worlds, and bringing them to life. Her goal is to create pieces that can resonate with a viewer, regardless of the content.
